Mattia Petullà was born in Calabria, south of Italy.
He studies television and multimedia communication in Bologna, later he specializes in editing and then makes his debut as director of short films in 2009. 
On October 2022 his first feature documentary film as a director, «Terra in vista», was released in the international competition Opus bonum at 26th Ji.hlava IDFF.
He lives and works between Belgium and Italy.
